MORE THAN A SINGLE TASK

Assistance where the work happens.

AI has a role beyond extracting a receipt. The alloc direction puts assistance across client onboarding, practice operations, the books, compliance and advisory preparation.

  • Understand the client

Prepare information from source records and bring missing details or discrepancies to the team’s attention.

  • Move the work forward

Identify blockers, find outstanding records and draft the next client request for review.

  • Strengthen the review

Highlight unusual figures and possible inconsistencies, with the relevant evidence alongside the suggestion.

  • Prepare the conversation

Draft commentary linked to report figures and help the accountant explain what changed.

ASSISTANTS & AGENTS

From a question to prepared work.

An assistant responds to a question or request. An agent can progress a defined sequence of work, within the permissions and approval points it has been given.

For alloc, the aim is assistance that can follow the connections in the practice, explain what it found and show what still needs a decision.

  • “What’s blocking this client’s year-end?”

An illustrative assistant question that draws on missing records, outstanding work and review items.

  • “Prepare this client’s year-end for review.”

A planned agent workflow: gather the trial balance and evidence, identify gaps, prepare draft work through the accounts-production process, then present exceptions and next steps.

These examples describe planned workflows, not live product results. The accountant retains control of approvals, filing and client communications.

A TRAIL YOU CAN FOLLOW

Understand the suggestion. Review the action.

Our approach combines useful assistance with traceable evidence and human control. The design principles extend from an individual capture decision to the wider agent workflow.

  • Evidence attached

Make the source behind a proposed figure or explanation available to the reviewer.

  • Access respected

Scope assistance to the information and actions the user is allowed to access.

  • Actions explained

Keep suggestions, proposed actions and human responses visible in a reviewable history.

  • Clear approval points

Bring exceptions and consequential actions back to the team. Accounting calculations follow defined rules; AI supports preparation and review.

YOUR QUESTIONS

A few things worth knowing.

Is alloc’s AI focused only on document processing?

No. Document capture is one application. The wider product direction includes assistance for onboarding, client requests, practice workflows, bookkeeping, accounts, tax review and report commentary.

Are the assistants and agents available now?

Practice-wide assistants and agents are planned. Source-linked capture decisions are demonstrated in the developing product; the feature overview explains the current availability of individual areas.

Will an agent make professional decisions for the accountant?

The design keeps the practitioner in control of professional judgement, approvals, filing and client communications. Agents are intended to prepare work and surface exceptions within defined boundaries.

How would a practice assess the quality of the AI?

Ask to see the evidence behind a suggestion, how mistakes are corrected, which actions need approval and what the history records. Useful evaluation includes difficult examples and exceptions as well as successful demonstrations.
